One of three cutters I bought from the same private collection, this sewing cutter has a very fancy, bold three-dimensional design of flowers, buds and leaves. It's clearly marked 'sterling' but is not marked by a maker.
Length is 5”. It's in good condition, but has a couple of small manufacturing flaws in it's casting, two tiny indentations in the open area of the handle just below the flower blossom. Also, along one side are a couple indentations where long ago someone mistook this cutter for a hammer and used it to pound something. None of these flaws go through the silver and are relatively minor, but I am mentioning them for accuracy. As usual, the steel blade shows some age oxidation, but nothing serious. I've priced this cutter appropriate to it's condition.
