From the Victorian-era of the late 19th century, this black darner has a clearly marked “sterling” in the center of one side. It's design begins with a heart at the top of the sterling handle, and then continues with lovely curls below, all outlined by a tiny rope design along the edges.
This darner is well-made and in very good condition, with only very slight use marks on the black wood. The handle is securely attached. It is unmarked by the maker.
