Carved by a very talented carver, this vintage meerschaum pipe shows a highly detailed figural bust of a man wearing a turban.
Meerschaum is made of a cream-colored mineral in the soapstone family known as hydrous magnesium silicate. This stone is prized for it’s extreme lightness, so noticeable when compared to briar pipes of the same size. Meerschaums won’t burn, and therefore do not require a build-up “cake” of carbon on the inside of the bowl to protect it. They impart no flavor on tobacco, making them quite desirable for allowing the true taste of the tobacco to come through.
Size is a large 2-3/4 inches tall, 6 inches long. It is in Very Good condition, and ready to be enjoyed!
