= This lovely old spill vase has such good detail - the young boy has beautifully hand-painted details, especially in his face. His cherub cheeks are pink, and his finely detailed facial features - eyes, eyebrows, lips - give him a tremendous amount of personality. His light brown curly hair just adds to his essence.
More hand-painting in his clothing - shoes, pants and cape - all add up to a really superb vase. Lots of gold on this one - from the top edge of leaves down to the fine brush strokes at his feet - this is a richly styled spill. The strong mold detail is wonderful.
Height is 5-3/8", width is 4" across.
Condition is Very Good - glazed well, with an unglazed bottom. Unmarked, yet nicely made - most likely English, mid- to late-19th century.
