This large ferner or jardiniere measures 8 3/4" in diameter and stands 3 3/4" tall. Made of hard paste porcelain by the C.E. Carstens Porcelain Manufactory(Weimar), Thuringia, Germany in the early part of the 20th century.
The gracefully shaped bowl sits on 6 feet extending from a scalloped skirt. Lovely pink and rose floral transfer applied to a pale green field on snowy white embossed porcelain. This probably had lots of gold trim originally but most of this has worn away, especially around the top rim. The foot shows slightly more.
This is in very nice condition with no chips or crazing and only minor age marks in interior.
A lovely center or console bowl and an especially nice display piece since the design is on the exterior.
Green under glaze Weimar mark.
