This gorgeous old miniature table is made of solid walnut and measures 11 1/2" tall. The top is 14" by 9". The largest doll we have right now is the 21" Nancy Lee shown in the last picture and you can see that the table would accommodate an even larger doll or make a lovely place to display a cherished tea set.
Very heavy and assembled with no less than 1" thick pieces of walnut with mortised joints and no apparent nails. The ornate skirt is embellished with classical motifs of urns, festoons and rosettes. The heavy top sits on four delicately turned, tapered and fluted legs.
There is much wear to the black finish and one leg has an old re-glue that was rather poorly done as the leg is slightly crooked. Despite this the table sits soundly with no wobble. The 5th picture shows that one corner and the trim is this area are missing. The broken surface has the same black finish as the rest which may mean that the paint, although very old, is probably not original.
It's so hard to say what these old pieces have been through over the years and we can only describe what we see and provide as many photos as possible. Please use them as further illustration of condition and more will be gladly provided.
