This charming little doll house vanity dates to around the turn of the 20th Century and is thought to have been made by the German firm of Gebruder Schneegas although the company did not sign their creations.
Shown on page 111 of our favorite reference book* and described as being 'small 3/4' scale; it measures 4" tall (1 3/4" to marble surface), 2" wide and 1 1/2" deep. We have paired it with a 3/4" scale Schneegas chair that measures 4" tall by 1 1/2" wide and deep.
The pieces are made of light, stamped wood with scalloped details and a golden oak finish. The vanity has a marble top and a glass mirror.
The vanity has one repair to the front bottom panel and some age-related spotting to the mirror (which, although old, could be a replacement). The marble top is nice with no breaks or edge chips. The seat on the chair has been recovered and a bad re-glue make the seat sit just off horizontal.
