This beautiful doll house dresser was made in Germany by Schneegas and dates to around the turn of the 20th Century. Made of solid wood with glued construction and stained a lovely color that is sometimes referred to by collectors as "Golden Oak" or "Yellow Cherry". The wood is lighter than both of these and we believe it is pear wood.
Made in 1" scale and measures 7" tall to the top of the mirror frame (3 1/4" to top of chest), 3 3/4" wide and 1 3/4" deep. The 3 drawers open with small embossed metal knobs and are flanked by delicately turned pilasters. Topped with a piece of scalloped marble and a tall mirror and frame. Sits on 4 turned 'double bun' feet.
This piece presents very nicely but notice that the corner of the marble has been repaired. This was done by forming plaster (?) or a similar material to match the lines of the marble. It is a nice restoration and doesn't detract from the overall appearance. There is also a split at the top of the mirror frame. Our price reflects these issues. Overall it is very nice and very sound with no wobbles or looseness and a clean bright golden finish with no smudging or finish blemishes.
