This bathroom set was made by the Arcade Mfg. Co of Freeport Illinois in the late 1920's. Four Pieces consisting of a bathtub, sink, toilet and shower stall. The original set would have included a step stool.
Made of cast iron and enameled in ivory colored paint. The scale is just a bit larger than 1/12 and the bathtub measures 6" long, 3 1/4" wide and 2 3/4" tall. The sink is 3 1/2" tall and the rectangular basin top is 2 1/2" by 2 1/4".
The toilet features a hinged seat and lid and the faucets on the sink turn. The bathtub hardware is a small nickel die-cast piece riveted to the tub. Notice the little soap dish.
Arcade furniture, like most of the metal furniture from this era (Tootsie Toy, Kilgore) usually suffers from some degree of paint loss and this set is no exception although it is relatively nice condition. We have tried to show the worst of the paint loss in the allotted photos and more will be gladly provided. All pieces also show some paint crazing and, consequently, some tanning due to exposure. The tub shows the worst of this and is quite a bit darker than the other pieces. The toilet has a slight wobble where the two halves of the casting do not quite line up. No other damage, breaks or repairs.
"Arcade" is molded into all pieces and a "Crane" stamp on the exteriors.
These pieces are surprisingly heavy and un-packaged weight is over 3# and may qualify for 1st Class International shipping although it is not an option in the listing. Please inquire for packaged weight and shipping options if you are overseas.
