Strombecker started making wooden doll house furniture in 1931 and this is the first design of many that the company made in their long history. The design of the 1" scale furniture remained the same until 1936 when the styles were modernized somewhat to reflect the times.
This bathroom set includes a tub, sink, toilet, hamper and vanity and bench (this was eliminated from the later sets). Made of light wood with glued construction and enameled in medium green. The mirror on the vanity is tin.
The tub measures 5 1/4" long, 2 5/8" wide and 1 1/2" tall, vanity is 5 1/4" tall, 2 3/4" wide and 1 3/4" deep and sink is 2 5/8" tall with a 2 1/4" by 1 7/8" basin. The other pieces are relatively sized and more dimensions will be gladly provided.
All pieces are in very nice condition with no breaks or repairs and show little sign of play wear. Minor paint chipping in areas, mainly on the delicate turned legs of the vanity and the inside rim of the tub. Also shows the paint seepage on the open grain of the wood that is typical in Strombecker furniture. Overall, a very nice set!
