This old doll trunk is a large size and measures 18" long, 10 wide and 11 1/2" tall. Made of light wood and covered with a lithographed printed paper and metal hardware. Dates to the late 1800's.
The interior in also covered in paper; a small patterned design on the trunk replicating metal strapping, plain tan paper on the tray, a lovely red on the lind interior and navy blue on the lidded side compartment. These are beautifully embellished with a portrait of a woman on the lid and a bouquet of flowers on the lid of the compartment.
In nice structural condition but exhibits the exterior paper wear that is often found on these old trunks. Also missing the leather straps on each side and a broken locking mechanism with no key. We have shown all sides in the photographs; please use them as a more detailed description of condition. The interior is surprisingly nice considering the exterior with very little loss and just a bit of water damage. However, it has an odor from long-storage that may dissipate now that the trunk has been brought back to life but there is no guarantee that it will go away entirely. Please consider this if you find this aroma offensive or have allergies or sensitivities.
