This lovely old platter was made by the Buffalo Pottery Company of Buffalo New York and is dated 1909. Measures 14" by 11". It has a rather deep well and the height is 1 1/2".
Decorated with the ever-popular Blue Willow transfer pattern. Quite substantial and heavy, unlike newer goods of this type. The un-packaged weight is just under 3 pounds.
In excellent condition for its 100+ years with no damage other than all-over glaze crazing and seepage, something to expect on this semi-vitreous earthenware. The staining is limited to the back side with just very light traces on the front concentrated on the craze lines. There is also a line (lower left side in picture) where the transfer does not quite meet. No chips, fleabites, cracks or repairs.
