This wooden living room set was made by Strombecker in 1931, the first year that the company produced dollhouse furniture. The pieces are larger and more detailed than the furniture to follow and feature attached feet on the sofa and chair, turned legs on the radio and a paper face on the clock. The set includes sofa, arm chair, foot stool, library table, grandfather clock, side table, radio and floor lamp.
Made of light wood with nailed and glued construction and sprayed in red enamel. Made in 1" scale; the sofa measures 6 3/8" long, 2 1/2" deep and 3" tall. The other pieces are relatively sized; please request more dimensions if required. This furniture is on the large side and may not mix with other more typically sized 1" scale furniture. Mixes well with Schoenhut.
All pieces are in nice condition with no breaks or repairs and only minor signs of surface disruptions and play wear here and there. The paint is nice with a thicker application than the later Strombecker pieces. The footstool has some darker lines on the top surface that appear to be paint seepage and are not removable. Two small areas of abrasion on the paper clock face.
