This lovely little dollhouse dresser is made in large 1" scale and measures 5 1/2" tall, 3 1/2" wide and 2" deep.
Made of solid oak with glued construction and finished with a coat of shellac or varnish. Three functional drawers open with small knobs of pewter or another soft metal.
Made by Star Novelty Works and marketed as "American Toy Furniture" in the early part of the 20th Century.
We imagine that this furniture was made to complete with the lovely German furniture that was made around the same time. The last picture shows the dresser with a similar piece made by Gebruder Schneegas. The size and aspects of the American furniture are similar, down to the patterned metal drawer pulls, but it is not quite as refined as the German piece.
In very nice condition with no damage other than some silver loss on the mirror.
