A lovely and extensive tea set for child's play or large doll display. The luster (or lustre) glaze was popular in the 1930's and the Art Deco design influence is evidenced by the slash of the orange dotted bar across the delicate posy.
The 27 piece set consists of a tea service for 6, a gravy boat with attached under plate and a large oval lidded tureen and platter. We do not like to complicate our descriptions with lots of dimensions but will provide several to illustrate the size and gladly provide more on request;
The tea pot is 3 1/2" tall and 5" across, the cups are 2 1/4" in diameter and the oval platter is 5" by 3 3/4".
In very nice condition with one small flake on the saucer shown in the last pictures. Also exhibit the firing flaws and mold idiosyncrasies that are typical for these inexpensively made toys. Notice the black spot in the tea cup and the misshapen plate in the close-up photo.
All pieces are stamped; "Made in Japan"
