This nice old chair measures 6" tall (3" to seat), 3" wide and 2 1/2" deep. Probably a little large for most dollhouses but perfect for displaying with a small doll. Shown with 8" Ginny in the last picture but made well before her time and for a more delicate doll. Dates to around the turn of the Century and probably from Germany.
Made of light wood with glued and nailed construction and a dark red stain. The seat is upholstered in brown leather and the back in maroon velvet with gold fringed trim. This is attached with small tacks which add a decorative effect.
In very nice condition with no breaks but evidence of re-glues and a slight wonkiness to the vertical lines. This may not be evident in the photos as it is minimal. The leather is soft and supple and the velvet is plush and clean.
