A beautiful little dollhouse 2 drawer chest made in the Biedermeier style with marble top, rosewood finish and gilded details emulating inlay.
Made in 1" scale and measures 3 1/4" wide, 1 3/4" deep and 2 7/8" tall. Made of light wood with glued construction. The two drawers are functional and open with small metal knobs.
These pieces are fragile and many are found with damage or repairs. This example is in very nice condition with no breaks or missing wood parts but overall age-related wear; dings in the wood, surface smudging and a small chip on the bottom back corner of the marble. Please look at all the pictures and use the zoom feature for a closer look at this nice old piece.
There were many German wooden toy makers around the turn of the 20th Century and the maker of this particular furniture is unknown. Some attribute it to Wagner & Sohn, others to Schneegas. Made c. 1880.
NOT recommended for children.
