Kilgore Mfg. Co. made toys and doll house furniture in the 1920's and 30's. Made of cast iron, the toys survive better than other soft metal furniture made during the same era (Tootsietoy, et al). Enameled in several bright colors.
This rocking cradle was made in 3/4" scale and measures 1 5/8" tall, 2 1/2" long and 1" wide (1 3/4" to the outside of the rockers). It is the same size as the more commonly found 3/4 size crib on wheels. In our many years of collecting dollhouse furniture this is the first example of this that we have seen and it is not shown in our reference books. Clearly marked "Kilgore" on the inside top side. Made in two pieces, riveted together and thickly enameled in green.
No damage other than the commonly found paint chipping.
