This lovely old piano scarf is a large size and measures 62" by 57" plus 12" of fringe on all 4 sides.
Made of silk crepe with a machine embroidered band of fruit and flowers around the outside edges. Trimmed with knotted and braided fringe.
The silk fabric is healthy with no shredding or weakness but the piece is not without issues. There is a round spot just off center where the fabric has faded, probably a result of a potted plant or perhaps a candle. The fabric here is slightly stiffer than the rest. Also a small hole close to this spot with an old and poor repair. Also some missing fringe, mostly on one side. The pictures show all sides and 2 of the side with the most loss. Other breaks in the delicate braided area. In certain lights the scarf appears as dark brown and we imagine that it has faded some.
This large piece was difficult to photograph so excuse the less than perfect pictures. We have tried to show all aspects of it and accentuate the flaws. Please feel free to request more pictures and/or information.
Priced low to compensate for the flaws. Overall this presents well enough for use and lots of nice fabric here for re-purposing. We have seen beautiful clothing made from these old-fashioned pieces.
