'Bronzing' baby shoes has been a popular way to memorialize baby's first steps since the 1920's. This adorable pair of small girl's shoes has been mounted on heavy cast bronze bookends and given a copper patina.
The older style shoes are about 5" long and the overall size of the assembly measures 6 1/2" long, 3" wide and 4" tall. Each weighs about 2 pounds; heavy enough to hold books in place. The insides of the shoes and bottoms are covered with maroon felt.
Both pieces are in excellent condition with no oxidation or damage to to the metal. There are some small holes in the bottom felts.
