The smaller size of this lovely pitcher and plate combination tells us that it was made for sauces or cream rather than gravy. The underliner plate measures just under 6" long and 5" wide. The total height of both pieces is about 3".
A sprig of lovely pink roses decorates one side of the pitcher with a pair of buds on the reverse and on the saucer. The delicate scalloped edges are trimmed with shiny sprayed-on gold and both pieces have a satin finish glaze.
No damage to either piece although there are several tiny marks that appear to be over-spray from the final gilding. These are shown in the pictures which may be better amplified by clicking 'Larger Views' at the bottom of the photo.
Bearing the RS Prussia red mark dating it to the turn of the 20th century.
