wonderful silver teddy bear produced by the Steiff company in 1983, called the Richard Steiff Silver Bear, to celebrate the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the teddy bear, and modeled after their 1902 design, in original box. We bought this bear from the local toy store when issued. He got lost for years in a relatives closet and we just found him. The bear if in near mint condition, having never been out of the box on display and never played with. We took him out for the photos. The box has two parts: the bottom of the box which contains the red flocked holder for the bear is in good structural condition with wear; the see through plastic top is in poor condition but is there with tears on the corners, a few holes, etc. Amazingly it protected this beautiful bear just fine. The bear is of course of the fine mohair Steiff made so famous, complete with his original tag in ear and original ribbon. He is jointed with swivel head. He stands approximately 12" tall and is just wonderful.
