Beautiful antique prayer books, the Book of Common Prayer and Hymns Ancient and Modern, two books in original case, all bound in a pale red leather, gold gilt page edges still shiny and fine, both books in wonderful condition with no names or writing inside, clean, tight, little wear at all. The matching leather box style case has some old water stains on the bottom only, we have not tried to clean this at all, the original straps intact with some black stain in a small area on the strap. The Book of Common Prayer was published by Oxford University Press, London, Henry Frowde, and the Hymns book says "printed for the proprietors by William Clowes and Sons, London. We have found this typical of these old sets, often different printers names but the set is original. The BCP has its original marker ribbon. Both books in really great condition, we saw one folded page corner in the hymnal. Each book measures 3 & 3/4" tall by 2 & 1/2" wide and 1/2 to 5/8" thick, with the box case of course slightly larger. Lovely set, even the inside of the case is lined in a darker red leather.
