Beautiful signed Meissen cobalt ground with white and gold candlestick, fine porcelain with brass bobeche. On the base is the blue underglaze crossed swords mark, also the initial F; and on the other side incised with no color is B170 (we think) with another mark under that. Upon researching this item we found a pair that sold at a fine auction in 2008 with the same style number, identified as second half of the 19th century. This candlestick is identical with one exception, the auction photos appeared to be entirely porcelain, where this candlestick has a fine brass bobeche. The underside also is the same with same markings and same screw holding pieces together. The brass bobeche may or may not be original, it could be that the original porcelain bobeche became damaged, in which case the replacement was done very well, we just don't know. 11 & 7/8" tall and in very good condition.
