Lovely old squash blossom style Native American necklace consisting of the silver bench beads with Naja of 7 coins and 10 more coins as pendants on the necklace in place of the traditional blossoms. This beauty is signed GB YD, Navajo, and also signed sterling all of these markings on the back of the naja. The coins would be their original medal content. The naja measures 3" tall by 3" wide and the necklace laid flat measures 14 and 1/2", interior measurement 23". Coins are as follows (to the best of our ability to read them as some have a lot of age wear): On the Naja: 1942 half dollar, two 1939 quarters, two Indian head nickels one dates 1936 , and two dimes one dated 1931. On the beads the coins are two silver dollars dated 1883 and 1891, two half-dollars 1938 and 1942, two quarters both 1936, two Indian head nickels both 1936 and two dimes 1935 and 1936. This piece is in very good condition with obvious wear on the coins and some on the necklace itself. This came from the collection of an older man who had amazing Native American pieces, we were lucky to be able to purchase a few. Necklace made circa 1980 from information given to us from the owner.
