It must have taken forever to make this stunning hand-wired necklace! Hundreds of shimmering purple and lavender fresh water pearls arranged in floral clusters are accented with faceted crystals. Three larger tear-drop crystals finish the piece. The wonderful dealer from whom I bought the necklace said that the elaborate setting tested as sterling silver, although the piece is unmarked. The original owner said that she purchased the necklace in the 1980's. Please be sure to take a look at the photos of the back of the piece – it shows the superb workmanship of the artist who created this masterpiece! The pearls themselves have fascinating variations in shade and shape, and a beautiful, deep luster. The necklace is really substantial, with an impressive weight. Everything in this stunner is in excellent condition!
Wait `til you read these measurements! The neckline is approximately 17 inches (43.2 cm), including the 3 ¼ inch (8.3 cm) extender. Each cluster of pearls is between about 1 ½ and 2 1/2 inches (3.8 to 6.4 cm) across, and the pendant part of the necklace is an amazing 9 inches (22.9 cm) from neckline to the end of the crystals. Incredible!
