This gorgeous brooch is signed Trifari with the crown above the "T" on the well-functioning clip mechanism, and "Sterling" on the back of one of the clear rhinestone sprays. The absence of the copyright mark, use of silver, and style of the signature would indicate that this beauty dates from the 1940's.
Lovely sapphire blue, open backed and unfoiled rhinestone flower sprays are framed by scrolled rosy gold washed sterling silver leaves and lines of clear rhinestones. The bouquet is held at its base by a band of clear rhinestones.
The rhinestones are all present. The tiny clear chatons have mellowed to varying degrees, but none is "dead". The vermeil is largely intact, with some wear to raised areas and edges. The piece measures 3 by just over 2 inches (7.6 by 5.1 cm).
