The rich colors and unusual design of this demi-parure are striking. A plume of deep orange / amber rhinestones curves back on itself in the fur clip, with aurora borealis stones forming the center of the feather. Three of the amber stones are missing from the back of the curve – I don’t feel they are at all notable, and the fur clip is completely wearable. The curve of the feather creates over an inch of depth! The clip earrings mirror the fur clip design, with one interesting exception: one earring has amber rather than AB stones at the lower part of the feather – these are clearly original to the piece, and appear simply to be an interesting design choice. One earring and the fur clip are marked Hollycraft. The plating is japanned with a copper wash, creating a lovely varied patina, with darker and lighter shadings. The fur clip measures 3 ¼ by 1 1/8 inches (8.3 by 2.8 cm), and the well-functioning clips earrings are 1 ¼ by ½ inch (3.2 by 1.3 cm).
