Jonette Jewelry produced the Artifacts line of their jewelry in 1986 after being in business since 1944.
They apparently had a love of animals and in particular Cats because one can find all manner of the fuzzy darlings captured in their offerings.
Take for instance this pair, which I refer to as Cats In Love (because it looks like they are having a Pur-fect evening together) The two house cats in collars are nuzzled together on a brick wall under a large rising moon. It is done in both brushed and gleaming gold tone metal and very detailed. From the bricks in the wall to the fur on the cats it gives this pin the look of quality that all “J J” creations had.
Measuring 1 7/8” wide at the widest part of the lovers moon and 2 2/8” long from the top of the moon to the bottom of their entwined tails it's a fun piece of jewelry anyone with a passion for our feline friends would love. It is a solid piece and best worn on a heavier jacket or coat, but could be added to a purse or evening bag for an extra touch of extravagance.
It is marked on the back (c) JJ as seen in my pictures and the pin and clasp are in excellent working order.
Overall condition is very good Vintage, it is an item that has been worn previously and it does have two tiny scuffs on the moon but is otherwise in wonderful condition. You can see the marks in my up close high resolution photo's, and please remember that this shows you details larger than you would see them when held in your hand. The scuffs are almost unnoticeable when you look at them in a normal setting. I have priced this pin with consideration of the small inconsistencies stated because all cats deserve a home that will love them.
Jonette Jewelry ceased all production when they went out of business in 2009 and I believe that today's find will increase in value as time goes on.
