This beautiful Vintage Gold-tone Domed Open Wire-Work Flower Burst Fashion Ring by AVON is interesting to say the least about it.
Made up of a twisted Gold-toned wire motif, it forms 20 full and partial interwoven 5 and 6 point flowers, each sharing several petals with its surrounding flower neighbors. The center of each flower has a tiny gold-toned ball of which, I count 20. the dome is just under 5/8” wide and 3/8” high, substantial yet lightweight and easy to ware.
The open work and the domed shape of this ring lets the light play off of itself to form even more interest when worn. It really is quite something for an inexpensive “fun” ring that Avon Made, but this was the way the Jewelry Manufacture was, and why folks still search it out today. “Inexpensive Quality” my mom would say to the ladies she sold to.
This ring has a solid shank, and is a size 8 ½ Mother was a small woman, but had large hands and also arthritic joints in later years, she liked rings and didn't mind if they were a bit “loose” once she got them over her knuckle. She would laugh, and shake her hand and say “That's not comin off”. I can still hear her in my mind today.
Condition is Excellent Vintage, I can detect no loss of the plating and no marks or scratches save some very faint marks on the bottom of the ring when viewing with a jewelers loupe. This would be normal to find on a used piece of jewelry. The ring is a nice sunny golden color, some of my photo's look a bit more red golden, also you see black in the metal which is reflection of my black camera. This is caused by my armature photographic skills and the lighting. I beg your forgiveness for this.
You needn't worry that I am not saying the truth about this ring, If you get it and it isn't all I have said it is, you don't even need a reason to return it. Ruby lane and I what you to be happy with every purchase you make. You can familiarize yourself with my “No Problems” return policy by reading it in the Drop Down Box to the right of this listing under “Terms Of Sale”.
From what I can piece together this particular Avon fashion ring is from sometime in the 70s or 80s. Avon isn't the easiest brand to track down concerning when it was made unless you have an extensive library on them, which I don't, so I want to apologize up front for not being able to quote it's age more appropriately. I can only verify that it is definitely a Vintage piece of Avon Costume Jewelry and had belonged to my mother. I am now trying to find new homes for these small treasures, and am making them available at reasonable prices for your enjoyment.
