As mentioned in another listing in my shop, I need to find a new home for these Vintage Old Crow, Seagram's and Fleischmann's Whiskey and Gin Advertising Swizzle Sticks and Stir Sticks.
They would be from sometime between the 1930's and early 1970's. That was the time my In-Laws hosted parties, went to clubs and enjoyed drinking away from home as much as when home. It was the times they lived in.
OLD CROW Advertising Features:
Old Crow: Nine (9) Swizzle stirs. Flat black handle with the words “TASTE OLD CROW” painted in white on raised lettering on the front, on the back it reads “Kentucky Whiskies / THE OLD CROW Distillery Company / Frankfort Kentucky” are shown in raised lettering only.
Old Crow: Four (4) Swizzle Sticks. Black stick with the words “OLD CROW” painted in white on raised lettering. A black crow in a black Top Hat sits on the top of each stick. On the back it reads in raised lettering only, “ Kentucky Whiskies, THE OLD CROW Distillery Co. Frankfort, KY.”
SEAGRAM Advertising Features:
SEAGRAM SEA BREEZE: One (1) Sky Blue Swizzle Stir. The top shows a sailboat in a large scalloped oval on the water with the words “Seagram Sea Breeze” written in white on raised letters is above and beside the boat. This sits on the stick which is made to look like an anchor and it's chain coming from the boat and holding it in place. The word Seagrams is written in rope that is attached to the chain. On the back we see “Made with Seagram's Ancient Bottle Distilled Dry GIN.” and “Distilled from Grain, 90 Proof. Seagram Distilleries Corp., N.Y.”
SEAGRAM'S EXTRA DRY GIN: One (1) Sea Green Swizzle Stir. The top shows the words “Seagrim's Gin” written in raised lettering on an oval, above it sits a stylized crown with a large “2” also in raised lettering. This sits on the stick which is made to look like an anchor chain but with a spoon at the bottom instead of an anchor. Again written in rope that is attached to the chain is the word “Seagrams” and this rope design circles the spoon bowl at the bottom. On the back we see “EXTRA DRY” written in raised lettering and in small print around the edge of the oval the words “ Distilled Dry Gin, Dist. From Grain 90 Prf. Seagram-Dist. Co., N.Y.”
SEAGRAM'S VO: Seven (7) Dark Blue Swizzle Stirs. Much like the above description but without embellishment of a crown. Simply an Oval with the words “Seagram's VO” written in raised lettering. The chain and the word “Seagrams” are the same here as well as the rope pattern going around the bowl of the spoon. On the back we only see the word “Seagram's VO” again written in raised lettering. There is no additional brewery information as on the others.
FLEISCHMANN'S Advertising Features:
FLEISCHMANN'S WHISKEY & GIN: Two (2) White Swizzle Sticks. A large circle sits atop the stick and shows on both sides a black Eagle with an olive branch in its talons. Below the bird written in black are the words “Since 1870” and above the bird “Fleischmann's” written in red with “Whiskey & Gin at the very bottom, also in red. (Image and words look to be stamped or printed) There is no other information such as where the product is made on the Swizzle.
Condition is very good. Some may need to be gently cleaned, however do this by hand and not in the dishwasher. The white lettering on all of the Old Crow Swizzles is in excellent shape. I am not sure why two of the Sticks blurred when being scanned, but that is all it is, just blur.
As noted in other of my Swizzle postings I need to take some of the things from the past and find them new homes, and I have priced these ridiculously low to do just that.
I will be adding more categories of swizzles shortly, so keep in mind that I combine shipping and will discount multiple purchases of Swizzles Sticks in addition, so you are really going to save.
Why am I doing this? My daughter says I need to sell these or throw them away so we can organize to move (hopefully) before the year is out. I have not the heart to throw them away.
A total of 24 sought after Swizzles are in this one listing.
