These Vintage Advertising Cruise Ship and Golf Club Swizzle Sticks / Stir Sticks belonged to my In-law's. These folks loved to entertain from the 30's right up through the early 70's. They were big on Cruises also, which turns out to be nice for the collectors out there because I am now passing them on to the next generation of Swizzle Lovers.
Cruse Swizzles Feature:
The Princess Mary, additionally marked; Victoria British Columbia all in raised letters: Six (6) sets of Ships Ores, one set being slightly smaller and may have been sandwich picks. (12 all together)
Princess Cruise Lines: Two (2) with the crowned “P” logo. They are pretty in pink. (see additional photo of them for a better look at the true color) raised lettering here also and the word BERMUDA.
Greek Lines: Four (4) Gold foil lettered swizzle spoons in yellow (2) red (1) and blue (1) the foiling does not show up well on the yellow spoons here, but it is there and very visible.
Golf Swizzles Feature:
1950s Golf Club Swizzles: Eight (8) clubs altogether. Four (4) Putters and four (4) Drivers. One each of the red, blue and green but only one black Driver and one yellow Putter. No markings as these came from a private club in Philadelphia. They could also be bought in shops at the time.
J&B Whiskey Gold Putter Award: Fifteen (15) of these. Marked with J&B in red that had been hot stamped into the plastic, also the words Gold Putter Award in black and also hot stamped. I am not sure when these were around but on later than the 70s for the one's in this collection. I do know they were from Golf Tournaments sponsored by J&B.
A total of 41 Swizzle Sticks will be sent to you.
Condition is normal Vintage, like many mass produced items that were meant to be tossed at the end of the day the yellow J&B Swizzles have a few that the stamping is a bit off but for the most part it shows nicely.(see photo's) The older colored golf clubs do show edge ware, but they were used when entertaining. The bubbles you see in the handles is inherent to the process that was used in manufacture. Cruise Lines were used once and kept as souvenirs.
I need to take some of the things from the past and find them new homes, and I have priced these ridiculously low to do just that.
I will be adding more categories of swizzles shortly, so keep in mind that I combine shipping and will discount multiple purchases of Swizzles Sticks in addition, so you are really going to save.
Why am I doing this? My daughter says I need to sell these or throw them away so we can organize to move (hopefully) before the year is out. I have not the heart to throw them away.
