70s Triple Chain Victorian Look Costume Bracelet
This bracelet measures a bit longer at 7 5/8” and 1/2” wide. Three heavier link chains make up the base for this particular bracelet. They are free moving, except where anchored to one of the five charms that are attached to them. This makes for a nice flexible bracelet.
The five charms attached to the bracelet are very much like the ones used in true Victorian messages. Everything had meaning to the Victorians and little was ever actually spoken apparently.
The charms here are an open flower with coral colored stone and 6 tiny faux seed pearls. It is up side down and if intentional would mean it is saying the opposite of what the original meaning was.
Also, a busy bee with a dark red stone, a cameo also on coral colored background, a coiled snake with a deep green stone and a coil of rope with a faux seed pearl in the middle. Perhaps a nest?
I think there was no rhyme or reason to the charms being added, but I could be wrong. Victorians were almost religious in the meanings of jewelry like this and the meanings of each of the objects on this bracelet are interesting. The bracelet is lovely, and we shall say still open to interpretation.
This bracelet is in Excellent Vintage condition. The charms are highly detailed and all stones and pearls are intact and in excellent shape. I can find no loss of plating or any condition to tell you about. Please do see all the pictures here, I have tried to show all the detail this bracelet offers, and tried to show you the flexibility of the bracelet too.
