No getting around it, this Unsigned 60s Tropical Orange and White Brooch or Pin is a fun item. You just don't see many pieces of vintage jewelry in this shape or color. To me it reminds me of foliage hanging down from its stem and swaying in the breeze. Seven long fronds compose the body 4 are enameled light orange, and three are enameled white. The stem is comprised of 5 3mm slightly darker orange faceted stones. Measuring 2 1/2" long and 1/1/2" wide it will draw attention and start conversations with other collectors and enthusiasts of jewelry.
On the back we see that the construction of this piece was made with "bridges" between the fronds to give them stability and keep them from bending out of shape or breaking off. The pin and thumb clasp are tight with good action. The back of the brooch is patterned with vertical lines, any dark you see in my photo's is my camera reflecting in the bright golden colored finish.
Overall condition is good used vintage. Some wear can be detected to the edges of the enameling where it meets the higher edge of the fronds. This could have been the way it was enameled during manufacture, or it could be from being worn, but it is quite small and hard to see even in my photographs. There is a little edge wear to the silvering, most of what you see in the photo is reflected light and not loss of plating.
