These inexpensive 40s Dime Store Costume Clip Earrings have become a collectors happy find these days. Not many of these Stamped Metal Earrings survived over the last 70 odd years causing them to become extremely hard to find in wearable condition.
This pair is constructed of a central oval disk of Mother of Pearl which nicely retains its luster and shine. At the bottom of the disk are 4 white molded flowers and each has a clear and sparkling foil backed stone set in the middle. We note, on either side of the oval and emerging from the nosegay at the bottom and from behind, gold toned stamped metal stems and leaves growing up to produce larger white enameled metal flowers. These flowers also have a sparkling foil backed stone set into the middle of the flower. On the reverse, we can see that the metal flowers have been riveted to the stamped metal leaves and stems and also riveted to the earring clip itself.
Condition: All stones were glued in place, as well as the molded flowers. Some of the glue is showing and has darkened over the years as the older glues do. What shows is actually quite slight, but I take closeup High Resolution photos of my things so you can see every tiny detail of construction, good or bad. I promise you the yellowing that looks to be prominent on the earrings is actually of little note. The stamped metal on the front of the earrings retains its shine and the enameled flowers, which were only enameled on the front, have such tiny loss that it can't be seen without a jewelers loop when held in your hand. Loss of metal coating is evident on the back, there are some scratches present, some dull metal showing. This is not unusual and is expected for less expensive jewelry of this time period that has survived. Over all, in my opinion and for the construction techniques used they are in wonderful collectable and wearable condition.

I always combine shipping too, and overages, if they happen are refunded before the item is shipped out to you.
