From right around the year 1900 comes this Antique 14K Gold and Platinum Bar Pin with Engraved Geometric (Bar and Diamond) design.
I can't say I know who in the family purchased it for whom back when it was new. Despite this it is lovely and sometimes... that is simply all we need to know about an object to appreciate it. I have found out who the Manufacturer's Mark belongs to, and this information is now included below.

I measure it to be 2" long and just a hairs breath under 2/8" wide. Each 14K Gold edge has been hand carved to create a diamond like appearance and sparkle when it moves in the light. This surrounds the Platinum field of carving which envelops the entire rest of the length and breadth of the pin. Straight lines swerve and dip to create 9 full and 1 partial 9pt. diamond shape that also shines in reflected light like no other. It is wonderful, with its simplicity of design, the amount of reflected light it can give and no stones are to be found on it.

Turning it over we can see the maker's mark, an elongated "C" with 14K inside denoting the content of its precious metal and is written atop of the locking levered C Clasp.
Always continuing to research what I was not able to locate at the writing of a listing I have found that this Makers Mark belonged to yet another New Jersey and New York firm of Charles Keller and Company. From my research I pieced together that this was the last mark used by this firm and possibly (and I stress the word possibly) in business using this mark till about 1920. The uncertainty arises from many mergers and partners and re-namings. Untermeyer-Robbins Company being one such company name change.

The levered locking C clasps are generally agreed upon to have been in use from about 1900 until 1909. It has not been tested for Platinum, however I state this as fact because Platinum was used almost exclusively up until the start of the First World War in 1914 when its use was banned. White gold in its bright and malleable form was introduced to the industry in 1917. These facts were verified through the prestigious work of American Jewelry Manufacturers by Dorothy T. Rainwater / Schiffer Publishing LTD, West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Condition of the pin is Very Good Used Antique. The gold has fine scratches from being put on and taken off over the years, I can not detect any marks on the Platinum, which is another indication that what I am stating is fact. The pin and locking C Clasp work perfectly and will stay closed.
