The round paper container says: DIAMOND 22 No. 2 Round Heads PAPER FASTENERS Made In U. S. A.
The box measures 1 ½" across the top and not quite 1" high when closed, and the brass fasteners are 1 1/8" long, with the head being 1/4" across. To use, one would punch a hole with a hole punch in the spot you wanted to fasten on each page and insert a fastener. The long tails are bendable and would be opened to lay flat against the paper, thus holding it together. (Mother said "Only Uncouth people stick straight through the page with the fastener.)
Not sure when these were made, I know they would be pre mid 50's because of the desk that they came out of.
Sweet little collectors' item or just the right size for a shadow box.
