Beautiful Samantha, a 19-inch porcelain Gorham Collectors Doll from the Gift of Dreams Collection was created by doll connoisseur, John T. Young. Mr. Young collaborated on the series with renowned doll artist Brenda Elizabeth Gerardi who designed the costumes of fine imported linens, laces, and ribbons. Each doll in the series displays an open smile revealing sculptured teeth and dimpled cheeks. German blown glass eyes are enhanced with life-like eyelashes. A specially constructed body and a jointed neck allow for realistic posing of the doll.
Each doll in the collection is accompanied by her own unique wooden dollhouse concealing an 18 note musical movement that plays a sweet lullaby.
Hallmarked and dated, each Gift of Dreams doll is hand numbered in a strictly limited edition of 1,000. Samantha is numbered 116.
Her beautiful blond hair is coiled and braided and tied with white ribbons. She is wearing a white eyelet embroidered lace dress embellished with pink ribbons. Her shoes are white and she is wearing white ruffled socks. She is wearing an embroidered lace white slip and polka dot pantaloons under the dress.
Her music box doll house is a pink and blue Victorian style and plays Brahm’s Lullaby.
She does not have her original tags, certificate of authenticity or original box. Samantha comes with her doll stand.
The music box does play. There is some staining on the roof of the dollhouse. The front left porch post is loose. It measures approximately 4” wide, 5 1/2” high and 3 1/2” deep.
Samantha is in nice condition but her outfit has a number of light stains. Her previous owner did have her on display.
