This is a beautiful sterling silver serving spoon by Gorham. The pattern is called Strasbourg and the spoons date to around 1897. It is marked on the back sterling, B, Pat. 1897. It is hallmarked with a lion, an anchor and an intricate G.
There is a monogram that looks like it is M N. It is very ornate and extremely difficult to decipher.
The spoon measures approximately 8 ½” long and the bowl is 1 ¾” across. The spoon weighs 2.5 oz.
The overall condition is quite good. There is a small ding in the bowl.
We have a set of four serving spoons listed separately – see RS-39.
