This is a wonderful cookbook by Lindsey Remolif Shere, the long time pastry chef of Chez Panisse. It published by Random House, New York, 1985. Book illustrations were done by Wayne Thiebaud and it contains a preface by Alice Waters, owner of Chez Panisse. It retains its original dust jacket which is in fair condition with some tears along the top and bottom. The cookbook contains inspired dessert recipes many of which are well renowned. They are classic in inspiration, innovative in execution and the collection builds from recipes for basic pastries, cookies, cakes and creams to an array of sophisticated and sumptuous finales grouped around their dominant ingredients of apples, pears, and quinces; citrus fruits, tropical fruits, flowers, herbs and spices; berries; summer fruits; figs, melons, and other Fall fruits: nuts and dried fruits; chocolate and wine and spirits. The end results are surprising and full of color, flavor and texture. The book contains 11 chapters, two appendices and a comprehensive index. The condition is very good especially for a cookbook. It has blue and beige boards. It has a medium blue text on the spine. There are 341 pages. It measures approximately 9 ½" long by 7 ½" wide.
