This is a very lovely old advertising calendar with a wonderful signed print by noted artist W. Haskell Coffin. The print has the title Prize Winners at the bottom and is numbered 1717. It is also copyrighted R. C. Co. N. Y. The print has a beautiful young woman holding a riding crop standing next to an even more beautiful horse. It has a complete calendar pad at the bottom from January 1917 through December 1917.
The advertisement is for the Lewis S. Hardware, Seed and Pet Store, Wilmington, Delaware.
W. Haskell (1878 – 1941) was a very successful artist and illustrator during the first half of the twentieth century.
The condition of the print is good with the exception of a ¼” scratch through the lower part of the riding hat on the left side. The cardboard backing has some losses on the corners, top and sides and a tear on the top left side. It has a crease through the top left side. The calendar has been priced for condition.
The calendar measures approximately 15 ½” by 10 ¼”.
This is a really beautiful and hard to find Coffin print. It is a great find for the equestrian lover, art lover, calendar collectors, ephemera collectors, and advertising collectors.
