This lovely pair of vintage wall pockets are shaped like teapots. They are hand painted with green leaves, white flowers and bright red strawberries on a creamy white or ivory base. All of the painting is under the glaze except for the strawberries which are painted on over the glaze. That is why you will occasionally find these teapots for sale with just the outline of the strawberries and missing the original red paint. They are not marked and the bottom is unglazed. They date to around the 1940's.
Each teapot measures approximately 8 ¼" wide from handle to tip of spout and 4" high.
One teapot has a crack through the top of the handle, a small chip on the spout and a little rough spot along the edge on the top right side. The other teapot is in excellent condition - no chips or cracks. They have been priced for condition.
