This is a very pretty and colorful set of 8 cups and saucers in the Fairlane pattern produced by the Steubenville Pottery Co. The cups have a creamy white background with pretty pink and blue flowers with gray leaves. The saucers are blue and match the blue flowers. The cup measures approximately 3 ¾" in diameter and 2 ¼" in depth. The saucer measures approximately 6" in diameter. The condition is good but one cup does have a slight imperfection in the manufacture and is slightly out of shape around the edge. One saucer has scratches or knife marks on it.
The Steubenville Pottery Company was founded in 1879 in Steubenville, Ohio and operated until closing in 1959. The molds and equipment were bought by Canonsburg Pottery located in Canonsburg, PA.
These cups and saucers are nice examples of American Dinnerware and they are fairly available and affordable so that you can add to your collection. We also have listed in the Fairlane pattern, a large platter, soup bowls, cereal bowls, dessert or fruit bowls, salad plates, a sugar bowl and an under plate for the gravy bowl.
