This is a very pretty Cauldon Plate. It measures 8 ¾" in diameter. It is marked on the back "Cauldon, England, Clarke Sawyer CP, Worster". The plate is bright white. It has gold around the rim and then a band of red with an artistic Greek key design in white over the red. There is another band of gold and then there is a pattern of flowers, leaves and garlands in a bronzed gold color. The condition is very good with only some knife marks on the plate. There are no chips, cracks or crazing. Cauldon was established in 1920 and operated under different names until 1962 when it was acquired by Pountney & Co. Ltd. and subsequently failed in 1977.
