This is a very nice old vintage advertising tole painted tea tin. It has a hinged lid. It is painted black and is decorated in gold gilt. It is octagonal shaped. It has a paper label on the bottom that is faded but still readable. The label reads Lehn & Fink's Baronet Brand Ceylon India Tea. It includes directions on how to brew tea. It places Lehn and Fink at 120 William Street, New York. Based on the history and address of the business we believe this tin dates to around the 1920's.
The tin measures approximately 7" long, 3 ½" wide and 5" high
The overall condition of the tin is good. There is paint loss, some oxidation and denting along the edge of the lid. The lid does still fit snugly.
This is a really nice find.
Lehn and Fink were in business from 1875 and were doing business from different locations on William Street since 1886. They were importers of drugs and other products.
