This is a really attractive pair of needle painted prints. One is titled "The Dance" and is dated December 25, 1932. The other is titled "The Duet" and is also dated December 25, 1932. They were both needle painted by Elizabeth B. Parry. They are both in wood frames with black and gold paint. The prints are under a black and gold reverse painting on glass with an oval opening. They appear to be in their original frames and have their original backing.
The scenes in the prints are very romantic with couples wearing period clothing. The couples are in a garden or setting full of flowers. The colors in the prints and the threads are beautiful soft pastels. The prints are reprints of old 19th century oil paintings. The back of the prints offers information on the artwork and has a sticker with the name of the needle painter.
The condition is fairly good. There is a little damage to the back paper on one of the prints. The prints and backing are held in with nails. One of the backs is placed in upside down, but we did not want to take it apart to fix it. Old things are generally best left untouched. There are a couple of small spots on the oval opening on the left side of the print titled: The Dance.
The frames measure approximately 5" x 6".
