This is a lovely dark flow blue covered tureen in the desirable pattern “The Temple”. The scene depicts pagodas and trees in cobalt blue on white ironstone. It was produced by Podmore Walker & Co. in Tunstall, England, between 1849 and 1859.
It does not have the manufacturer’s mark.
There is crazing commensurate with age. The glaze is slightly flaked on one corner of the tureen. There is light discoloration on the bottom of the tureen. There is a small fleabite on the inside rim. There are stilt marks on the tureen. Please be sure to look carefully at the pictures for condition.
The tureen measures approximately 9 1/2” in diameter and 3 3/4” high without the lid 7 3/4” to the top of the finial.
