This is a lovely early cup and saucer in a pattern that is known as sprig. It was made in England and dates to the mid 1800’s. It has a simple hand painted pattern over the glaze of small red flowers with green leaves and brownish red stems. The cup and saucer are multi paneled with simple embossing and scalloped edges. The cup is beautifully molded and has a delicate handle.

The cup measures approximately 3 ¾” in diameter and 2 ¼” high. The saucer measures approximately 5 ½” in diameter. The cup and saucer are both numbered on the back 1925. The condition is good. There are no stains, crazing, cracks or chips but there are slight imperfections in the pottery.
