This is a very lovely blue transferware plate. The scene is quite lovely and tranquil with a large urn in the foreground and in the background there are trees, flowers and a boat on a body of water possibly a lake or a river. It has a wonderful scalloped edge with beautiful cartouches of flowers and ships on the border.

The plate has the makers mark on the back.

Circa 1830.

The plate was made by either Thomas Mayer or George Phillips.

The plate measures approximately 10 ½” in diameter.

The plate has imperfections in the manufacture and some flakes in the glaze.

Item ID: RBA-P226
