This is a wonderful old stoneware crock. It was part of an old water filtering system. The top and bottom of the crock are banded in blue. There is a large number 7 in blue on the top center. The front is labeled in blue letters: Original Gate City Natural Stone Water Filter.
The condition is fairly good. There two hairlines that go through the pottery. The bottom inside is unglazed and shows considerable discoloration. There is a rim around the bottom that we assume at one time would have fit into a receiving vessel.
The crock measures approximately 9 ¼” in diameter and 8 ¼” high.
